Soil Brightness Scanning

High resolution soil brightness scanning is the low cost, high accuracy service for creating soil management zones.

The Desktop Zoning Service utilises satellite imagery to create accurate Soil Brightness Maps at 5m² resolution. This exclusive service represents an excellent start point for Precision Farming.

When you join IPF we take you through some important stages;

Stage One: Data Collection

Data Collection Relevant information is collated including:
  • Geological/soil maps
  • Historic field management
  • Existing PF data
  • Satellite Imagery including exclusive SOB data

Stage Two: Mapping the Zones

Mapping the Zones A meeting will be arranged between the IPF specialist, farmer, foremen and agronomist. They will use the data collected to create the soil management zones.

Stage Three: GPS Soil Sampling

pH Sampling Now the IPF Soil Sampling can begin. Our experienced soil sampling team will take GPS samples from each zone analysing P, K, Mg and pH.

Stage Four: IPF Toolbox

IPF Toolbox Your new zones will be uploaded to your IPF Toolbox account. This enables the farmer or agronomist to begin creating variable rate plans for nitrogen, P, K, Mg and Seed rates.

As with all IPF services, our qualified soil scientists will be on hand to ground-truth variations and provide helpful backup to ensure a successful zoning experience.
